Well, it has been over 4.5 years since I exited the Marines, and I miss it. Plus, my injury has long healed. Now you know why I wear those Five Fingers-- to help strengthen my feet and leg muscles.
I developed some pretty amazing friendships while I was in, and honestly, if I was in a pickle, I could call them up, and they would bail me out. Oh, esprit de Corps.. that too. Believe it or not, I love the training, the traveling, and all the cool, amazing things I get to do in behalf of the government. Who can say they've thrown two live grenades? And I am a gluten for punishment. I just miss it.. Is that enough for an answer?
Thank you for sharing. I didn't know you had been discharged due to the injury. Its awesome that you are going back in! Your drive and motivation help to push me to get back into shape.
